The summer festival in Mount Abu begins with a ceremonial procession, which starts from the RTDC Hotel Shikhar and gather at the Nakki Lake chowk where folk performances of Rajasthan & Gujarat states are mainly organized. There is a dazzling display of fireworks on all two days of the festival. This Festival is organized by the Rajasthan Tourism, Municipal Board, and Mount Abu District Administration. This festival is one of the most popular fairs and festivals of Rajasthan.
The second day of festival is more attractive because of various competition like the Skating Race, Skater’s Show, CRPF Band Show, Boat Race, Horse Race, Tug of War are organised for the whole day. Panihari Matka Race and Deepdan add more enthusiasm to the festival.
The Sham-e-Qawwali is a much-awaited musical extravaganza, as renowned qawwals from all over the country can be heard regaling the audience. Other tourist attraction in Mount Abu includes the Marble sculpture of Dilwara Temples, the Mount Abu Wildlife Sanctuary, the Toad and the Turtle Rocks near the Nakki Lake.
Udaipur (185 kms.) is the nearest airport. Abu Road (29 kms.) is the nearest railway station. Taxis and buses are available from both the airport and the railway station.
